40.000 FANS, SIX UNFORGETTABLE SHOWS AND ONE EPIC SUMMER!

The METAStadt Open Airs entered their fourth season in 2026, once again turning Vienna’s 22nd district into a vibrant summer concert destination. Around 40.000 fans came to see international icons, Austrian favourites and some of the most exciting artists of today perform under the open sky.
 

The season kicked off with MARILYN MANSON, returning to Austria after a two-year live break. Around 7.500 fans witnessed a focused 80-minute show that Kronen Zeitung praised as the performance of a “mature and confident musician”. BIBIZA followed with his biggest Vienna headline show to date, selling out the METAStadt in front of 8.000 fans. Blending rap, rave and rock, the Viennese artist delivered more than two hours of energetic hometown celebration.

Austrian pop favourites JOSH. & RIAN brought their joint “In einer Tour” to the METAStadt, while MICHAEL PATRICK KELLY delivered an emotional, nearly three-hour journey through new songs, classic hits and personal stories to 4.000 fans – including a backstage Gold Record presentation for his album “Traces”.

WINCENT WEISS turned another hot summer night into a true singalong celebration, with his fans singing, dancing and jumping along to his biggest hits. The season finale came from DEFTONES, who launched their European tour in Vienna in front of a sold out crowd. Despite the size of the venue, FM4 noted that the show retained the intimate energy of a small hardcore club – a fitting conclusion to a season defined by musical diversity and strong connections between artists and audiences.

With a total of around 40.000 visitors, the fourth season once again confirmed the METAStadt Open Airs as a major fixture of Vienna’s summer concert calendar. From shock rock and Viennese rap to pop, singer-songwriter music and alternative metal, the 2026 season proved that there is room for many different musical worlds at the METAStadt.

And the story continues: DANGER DAN will kick off the 2027 season on 10 July 2027. More shows will be announced in the coming months.
