METAStadt Open Airs in Vienna's 22nd district? Until 2019, few people had METAStadt on their radar. That changed dramatically with the premiere season of METAStadt Open Airs. The outdoor concert series transformed the venue into the city's cultural hotspot for the first time. In the following seasons of 2022 and 2024, the series became firmly established. Since then, "Stadlau's best-kept secret" has regularly taken center stage. And it's not just thousands of visitors who appreciate the unique atmosphere—national and international artists love this place too.

METAStadt Open Airs 2019 – The Beginning

Three acts kicked off the premiere season with a bang: Grammy-winning GRETA VAN FLEET from the USA, British indie sensation THE 1975, and legendary German act SCOOTER. Back then, it was just three concert nights. But even those put METAStadt Open Airs firmly on the map for music enthusiasts.

METAStadt Open Airs 2022 – Taking Root

By 2022, the lineup had grown significantly. Alongside German heavyweights ELEMENT OF CRIME, CRO, SARAH CONNOR, and SIDO, international stars like MICHAEL KIWANUKA, SKUNK ANANSIE, ALT-J and THE KOOKS delivered stunning performances. This cemented METAStadt Open Airs' reputation as a top destination for live music in Vienna.

METAStadt Open Airs 2024 – The Festival Experience

In 2024, the winning formula continued. The lineup offered highlights for every taste: neo-disco-soul band JUNGLE from London, KHRUANGBIN from Texas making their Austrian debut, PARCELS from Down Under, and electro pioneers AIR from France. Techno master PAUL KALKBRENNER, "Godmother of Punk" PATTI SMITH, KORN, CYPRESS HILL, CLAWFINGER and GIANT ROOKS also thrilled audiences. Over 50 acts made 2024 unforgettable.
